I usually hate it when bands re-record their old hits. But I'll give the Dolls the benefit of the doubt since, well, it's the Dolls.

I hope to see them play on Saturday - maybe they'll toss out some new songs.

I heard a couple of new songs at a SXSW gig, and they rocked serious ass. They played "Trash" too, but it sounded the same.

Must be good to hear how the new songs sit next to the old .... there are certain ones off the last album (eg 'Gotta Get Away From Tommy') that I can imagine would fit right in, but others (say, 'Dancing On The Lip Of A Volcano') less so.

Not that I don't like them as songs, but when there's a 30 year gap between albums there's bound to some difference in sound & musicality.
