Ron Asheton RIP

As is now being widely reported, Stooges guitarist Ron Asheton has been found dead at his home in Michigan. Perhaps most sadly it's been suggested that he may have been dead for several days before his body was found.

I'm sure I'm not alone in offering condolences to his family and friends.

Tragic News, I had the pleasure of seeing the reunited Stooges playing at ATP's "Nightmare Before Christmas" back in late 2006, for a bunch of blokes in their late 50's they played with an anger and passion that put most bands half their age to shame.

Ron was a true original, his guitar playing a huge influence on so many people, his work with the Stooges (as guitarist on "The Stooges" and "Funhouse" and bassist on "Raw Power") nothing short of astounding.

Really sad that he apparently lay undiscovered for days and died alone.

I came home from work last night and listened to "The Stooges" and "Fun House" very loudly.
